[bit.listserv.i-amiga] VMS and Zoo woes: an answer!

Actually, the problem is easier to solve than that. The current
version (2.01 is what I have) of zoo comes with a program called BILF. The VMS
environment has only one format for storing files: it is a variable-length
format (uncompatible with any image/binary format, really) and any zoo archive
made on a VMS system has to be converted (and vice-versa). This is the ONLY
time I have had any problem between VMS and any other system. bilf converts
the format back and forth between all other systems and VMS (talk about a
brain-damaged OS - that's VMS).

Remember, as well, that Kermit is a brain-dead transfer protocol. I'd
use Xmodem over Kermit! If anyone knows the procedure to post a program to
Amiga-s, please tell me. I can post the VMS/Unix source to Zmodem (the BEST
protocol, even though the VMS version is crippled due to the VMS environment)
