>I just checked out an FTP server (MRCNEXT.CSO.UIUC.EDU) with a LOAD of Amiga so >ftware and one major surprise. There are two demos with a .tar suffix. These fi >les are over 1.5 meg in size. How on earth do I download those monsters???? I saw them too. You did see that they have Fred Fish from 180 to 300 too, I trust. I think the only way you are going to get those files down to the amiga are is one of these two: 1. Download it to your mainframe, untar it, fiddle with it enough to re-archive it with zoo or whatever in chunks, download the chunks to the amiga floppies. 2. Get a hard drive. Option two is preferrable, I just wish I had the money to buy one. Speaking of which, until March 31, 1990, all Amiga owners who are eligable for the student discount, but don't want to buy a new CPU to qualify can buy components without buying a new cpu. If there is a general desire, I can post the USENET letter that was posted about 2 days ago (taken from compuserve). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=- #DEFINE std.disclaimers "A.N.A.R.C.H.Y. : it isn't a belief, it's a way of life!" \ / Single-Tasking?????
