I've got a lot of things to respond to, but I figured I should
put them on hold for a short prayer request (and as a suggestion, it
might be a good idea for all of us to simply do prayer requests for
the first day or two back, so as to start the new year off on a good
foot).
The night before I left for break, I got a phone call from
a dear friend informing me that a mutual friend of ours had committed
suicide. He was a good person, and I don't want to go into many detials,
but please pray for him like you've never prayed before. Also, if you
could pray for me through this as well-- I've had friends attempt
suicide before, but this was the first time someone so close to me has
suceeded so although I am taking it well, it will be occasionally
difficult for me to resolve my feelings regarding this. Feel free to
send me private mail on this if you'd prefer not to comment to the
list-- many of you are very good friends, and I think I need to hang
tight to my friends right about now... Thanks,
