[bit.listserv.christia] Say, kids.... - LHA

LHARANGO@OWUCOMCN (Lauren Arango) (01/11/90)

Hey, boys and girls! I've got an idea! Let's all pick apart the messages
that people post in good faith (and especially choose those people who post
things with a spirit of love and sharing in their hearts)....and then (are
you ready?) We can decide whether or not those statements qualify as
Christian statements! (I knew you'd like this!) And....(brace yourselves,
there's more)....for the grand finale we can decide whether or not those
people are actually Christians! For the unlucky hoards who are judged to
be non-Christian, we can subject them to continual pot-shots, picking,
and harrassment. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Pardon my cynicism, folks, but in my opinion this list has hit a new
all-time low, and I've been here for more than a year now. Never have I
been so close to leaving this list as I am right now. When the Christian
list produces more anger and stress than my daily life, something's very
much amiss.

I will go pray about it....
                                        God's peace,
                                        Lauren

It's OK, Lauren. I, too, am getting tired of it. But, you'll
notice it's usually caused by someone new to the list that hasn't
learned our 'rules' yet. So, when I read my mail, and see that
it is from someone who has a reputation for bashing, I delete it
even before I read it. It turns out I haven't missed anything,
because I never did read the messages you've refered to. Call it
simplistic, but it does improve the quality of the list. I still
know what's going on, because it has to get people very irate,
     justifiably.

TO THE BASHERS OF THIS LIST:
Stop it. Go home. Or stay and learn how to get along. That
means you will not be able to question a person's Christianity,
nor their personhood. Life is alot nicer, actually, when that
happens. And people will actually read your mail!

     Love,
     Deb
