I guess having read "The Crucible" and some other information on the Salem area
witch trials, I believe that it *is* possible to worry too much about the devil
and by doing so give him more influence in your life than he otherwise would
have had.
The other thing about Salem is that by worrying about the devil too much,
good people with good intentions can end up doing terrible things.
We should neither give him too much attention nor deny his existence at
all. Rather, we should just be cautious and remember that he lies, and as
such, it's possible that when he tells us that someone is a follower of his
it just might not be true.
