There are several messages I've been waiting for someone else
to respond to, but since no one did, I guess I've got to do the tough
job of trying to correct in the Spirit of love.
In response to queue ball:
You are indeed correct that demons can only be *cast out* by the
Lord Jesus Christ. However, Satan sometimes allows us to manipulate
his demons to give the false appearance of "casting out." I have heard
of Roman Catholic exorcisms in which the demoniac died. I must assume
that these exorcisms were not attempted through Jesus' power.
In response to Keith Gatling:
"Why is cursing intrinsically wrong?" Ephesians 4:29 says, "Let
no evil talk come out of your mouths, but *only such as is good for
edifying*, as fits the occasion, that it may impart grace to those who
hear."
In response to Deb Hawley:
"Jesus did not say, 'You must not be a Christian!'" True, but
He *did* say, "You are of your father the devil" (John 8:44).
In response to Jim McIntosh:
"Weren't cave people doing the will of God when they attempted to
understand their reality by finding God in wood spirits and weather
phenomenon?" A literal interpretation of Genesis makes short work of
this apparent dilemma. Cave people are pure mythology. If all are
descendants of Adam, at some point a decision was made to forget the
true God humanity originally knew.
For Jesus' glory,
Kurt
