Hello brothers and sisters, I am feeling a little concern over the conversation about the topics of casting out demons. Once again, let me quote a scripture from Luke 11:24-26; "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes to through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first." I see two important dangers about this. First, a christian who can cast out demons in the name of Jesus goes forth and cast demons out of non-christians. The non-christian is immediately better off, but the demon and seven more will return and the non-christian does not have the name of Jesus to keep them out. Thus, the chrstian has made life worse for the non-christian. My advice here is that you do not be indescriminate about whom you cast demons out of. You are much more loving and sensitive to your non-christian friend if you do not cast out the one demon until they are ready to receive Jesus into their lives. Second, a christian who is ready to be healed had better be ready to shut the doors before he receives healing. If you believe that habits like smoking are caused, or at least encouraged by evil spirits, then you can see why a person who is not really ready to quit smoking would have such a hard time of quitting after years of trying to stop. This holds true for other areas in your life such as a disciplined prayer life, love, obedience, etc. When dealing with demons as in all things in christian living, weigh the costs. ** Gary Samek **** C009GARY@UTARLVM1 * * ****
