[bit.listserv.christia] An example of a perversion

Ed Cole gave an example of a perversion this morning.

"It's not what you know, it's who you know".

I know you've heard this a good many times when it comes to promotion and
other good things. What Ed was talking about was the original meaning of this.
The original meaning of this saying in it's truest form was concerning
salvation, but the world has taken this and used it in a completely different
 way.

Another good saying this morning from Ed was "Men can change their habits, but
only God can change their nature." Again, "All true joy comes from sorrow." He
went on to explain, if you don't have the "sorrow" of pregnancy, you won't
know the "joy" of children. If you don't know the "sorrow" of being single,
you won't know the "joy" of marriage.

He also encouraged the single people to pray for a spouse in advance and to be
specific, for God is a God of specifics. He said so often someone will only
say, "God, I want a woman". God brings a woman, and they say "Wrong one". Be
 specific.

I love the way Ed Cole brings to light some things we take so much for granted.
Funny thing was, I prayed for Linda in advance after Connie left, and didn't
recognize her when God brought her to me until some time later. Despite this,
we had our first date on Valentines Day, and got married April 24.
