Greetings Brothers and Sisters. Praise the Lord I'm still safely with you despite our hurricane last Thursday and storm force winds the next day. An estimated 46 people lost their lives in England, in cars crushed under falling trees and masonry etc. I tried to go from one building to another during the height of the hurricane and got blown over... I beat a hurried retreat! Apart from losing a tile or two from our roof at home we seemed to have come out of it unscathed. So please praise our merciful God with me. My youngest son, Stephen aged 22, was riding his motorbike home when the hurricane had died down. As he rounded a sharp corner he was suddenly confronted with a tree fallen across the road. As he tried to avoid it, he went one way and his bike went the other! Steve was badly shaken as you might guess and suffered abrasions and bruising but sad to say his bike was a write-off! He also damaged his helmet and lost his goggles. So praise the Lord with me that Steve was preserved to tell the tale. We hope his insurance will pay up quickly so that he can get a new bike - its a bind for him to have to travel to work by train! I'm also recovering from another infection and, this time, severe side- effects of one of the antibacterial drugs (sulphamethoxazole). So please pray for my complete healing and recovery this time. Well, having only just got back our links with the outside world I guess I've missed a lot of postings (since lunchtime last Thursday, our time, when the hurricane struck.) So this is just to warn you that, if anything was aimed in my direction, it might not reach me. Actually CHRISTIA and BIOMED-L postings are coming in thick and fast - hopefully a backlog - but I guess I'll lose some of them! OK folks, that'll have to do for now - I've got a class soon - but do, please, to remember to pray for those who suffered bereavement, won't you. Yours, safely in Jesus our Lord, John Pickett
