Peter, My last note got to be too long. I wanted to include Hebrews 1 as another "Point of View" that Christ Jesus is the only way. Yes, He is the Christ, and He is special, because He is also God. Hebrews 1:1-14 - God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, (2)in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. MAKS> Jesus, our Jesus is heir of all things, and our Jesus is the creator. This word has been handed down for a long time, through prophets, and "in many ways". (3)And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made the purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high; (4)having become a much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. MAKS> Our Jesus, Christ or not(though He is), He sits at the right hand of God the Father. Budda, Mohammadan, and the others are not sitting in that position. Jesus has got my vote. (5)For to which of the angels did He ever say, "Thou art My Son, Today I have begotten Thee". And again, "I will be a Father to Him, And He shall be a Son to Me"? (6)And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, "And let all the angels of God worship Him." (7)And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels winds, and His ministers a flame of fire." (8)But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. (9)Thou has loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy companions." MAKS> Whew! I just got to stop here for a bit. I like these. Here the scriptures tell us that Jesus was no angel, and that Jesus is to be worshiped by one and all, even the angels. Budda, no. Gandi, no. Jesus, yes. Also, Verse 8 tells us once again, that Jesus is God. God is speaking "But of the Son He says". And what does He say to Jesus, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever." Again, Jesus is the One for me. I put my faith in Him. No one else ever died for me, no one else can save me. (10)And, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Thy hands; (11)They will perish, but Thou remainest; And they all will become old as a garment, (12)And as a mantle Thou wilt roll them up; as a garment they will also be changed. But Thou art the same, and Thy years will not come to an end." (13)But to which of the angels has He ever said, "Sit at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet"? (14)Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? MAKS> Here we continue with more of the same. God calls Jesus God, a status not shared by Budda, Gandi, etc. Also, it was only Jesus that God said He would "make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet." ===================================================================> In the garden of Eden, Satan asked Eve, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?". Satan from that time forward continues to use the same argument. One pastor said that Satan never had an original idea, and continues to use this. Satan continues. "Indeed, has God said, 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; NO ONE comes to the Father, but through Me.'" And perhaps the most damning, "Indeed has God said, (John 12:48:50) (48)"He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. (49)"For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me commandment, what to say, and what to speak. (50)"And I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me." God gives us free choice, but knowing what I know, I choose Jesus. I trust Him, and I knows He loves me. One of the songs we sing at church: His name is exulted far above the earth, His name is high above the heavens, His name is exulted far above the earth, Give praise and glory and honor to His name. No other name, but the name of Jesus, No other name, but the name of the Lord, No other name, but the name of Jesus, Is worthy of glory, Is worthy of Honor, Is worthy of power and all praise. And another: Lift high the Lord, our banner, Lift high the Lord, Jesus King, Lift high the Lord, our banner, Lift high your praise to Him sing. For He is wonderful, For He reigns on high, For He is marvelous, The Lord draweth nigh. In His Love, Michael A. Kline, Sr. SSE VDH, Technical Support (804)786-1559 XVDHMAK at VCUVM1 Richmond, Virginia
