Hello. Some of you may recognize my name from Belief-L. For those
who don't, let me give you a brief background of myself.
I was raised Catholic and attended a Catholic grade school and high school.
I began questioning the Catholic beliefs - or at least what I was taught
as Catholic beliefs - and soon discovered that Christianity in general
was not for me. I considered myself agnostic/atheist, leaning more
towards the athiest point of view. However, within the past year or so
I have decided to begin a search for my own true beliefs.
What are my beliefs so far? Well, right now I do not necessarily believe
in a Supreme Being - at least not the same one as the Catholics. I do
believe in a spiritual plane, and I also believe it is possible to contact
these spirits.
I take a liking to the following lines:
Every man and every woman is a star.
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Love is the Law; Love under Will.

Right now you're probably asking yourself, "why is someone who is into
Crowley on the Christian list?" Well, I have decided to re-evaluate
Christianity. I am going to re-read the Bible - not from a Catholic
point of view, but from my point of view. I am also going to read the
"missing" books of the Bible, as well as other stuff, such as the Talmud,
Eastern works and occult materials. Perhaps after reading and reflecting
I will find my true self and my true beliefs.

Welcome to the list! I understand, from your posting, that you are
in search of the Truth, and I think it is important to find it. My
hope is that, in sharing with us the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you may
somewhat get to know who He really is. You'll have to decide for your-
self, but let me tell you that since I got to know Jesus, I have grown
a lot spiritually and in my personality. He has given me great comfort
in times of trouble, and I will pray that you also find Him, and disco-
ver what He wants to tell you. I am happy that you are so open-minded
to have joined this list. Always remember that He loves you, and he
will accept you with all your problems and faults, as you are. Open
your heart for Him, and he will start changing you and turning your life
around. Also, it is not an escape into irrationality to choose Him, but
you can stay 'on the ground'. I hope that you will discover for your-
self.
