[bit.listserv.christia] PDB and others

Interesting that in the 700 club tapes this morning on the way to work, Pat
Robinson was saying how to spot the counterfeit.

He went to where Jesus asked the disciples who do people say I am.

Matt: 16:13-17 - Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi,
he asked his disciples, "Who do men say that the Son of man is?" And they
said, "Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or
one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"

(16)Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." And
And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon
Barjona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who
 is in heaven.

Well, I'll tell you, tears came into my eyes and I started praising God in the
Spirit, in my heavenly language. Why? I think it was to prepare me for the
 letters from PDB.

Pat went on to say that the counterfeit will say 'Jesus was a good man' or
'Jesus was the son of god, BUT...' or 'Jesus was the son of god, but unless
you do such and such...'. Works, thoughts.

It seems it is time to go over all the scriptures where Jesus DID claim to be
the Son of God, God eternal, in the flesh. I may indeed do this, but for the
moment, remember all the times Jesus said, "I and the Father are One!"? The
Jews picked up stones to KILL HIM! Why? If Jesus was only claiming to be "one
in purpose" with God, what would have been the problem. So were the Scribes
and Pharisees. But they said, "You being a man claim to be God, and that is
why we stone you." Not one in purpose, but GOD IN FLESH.

Then we go on to deny the virgin birth.

No, brothers and sisters, this is NOT the God of the Scriptures, but the God
of the New Age, Matraia(sp?). I AM SORRY, I meant to be kind, but the Spirit
weeps within me. I believe it is Jesus weeping over the blindness of the
 world.

Reminds me of some of the junk over on BELIEF_L. We were talking about the
integrity of the scriptures, and the thought was put out that the reason that
Jesus fulfilled the scriptures and all the prophecies was because all the
writers wrote the stories so that they would be true. In other words, all the
writings in the New Testament are a LIE! I would expect this there.

Ok, let's hear some writings. Was Jesus the Son of God, God in flesh? He
claimed to be. The Jews were full aware of His claim. If He wasn't, then He
was a liar, and why should we follow a liar?

But, Praise be to God, Jesus IS the Son of God. 100% God, 100% man. He sits
upon the throne and judges righteously. Worthy was the Lamb that was slain.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. I get goose bumps just thinking of my
 Glorious SAVIOR!

Why should we be concerned for the lost? Because this same Jesus that preached
love and peace will come some day on a white horse, and the blood will be as a
river. Yes, Jesus is love, but don't forget He is also a Judge.

Paul said if it were not true, Christians would be among the people deserving
pity. But, praise be to God, it is all true, and Jesus is King of King, Lord
 of Lords, Master of EVERYTHING!

Please realize, brothers and sisters, I would not behave this way on BELIEF-L,
but this is not BELIEF_L, it is CHRISTIA! Jesus said the words He spoke were
life, and we have just been offered "spoiled meet".

Jude 3-4 - Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation,
I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which
was once for all delivered to the saints. For admission has been secretly
gained by some who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungody
persons who pervert the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only
 Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Is this not what we see?
