I thought Zane's posting was great. Except as Elizabeth pointed out left out one detail. Is it possible to be married and not have it ordained as such by God? In Elizabeth's case it seems her first husband was not a beleiver and was obusive and thus it seems possible that her first marrige was not veiwed as God as a marriage but only her second marriage was really a marriage in God's eyes. I know many instances where the first marriage was not really a christian marriage and one partner (male or female) was abusive and involved in adulterous affairs. Thus in this case maybe God never ordained the first marrieg so that a second marrige in God's eyes is really the first marriage. In His Love, Eric. P.S. I had a hard time saying this and I hope it makes sense.

Thanks, Eric, I appreciate your comments. Many people wrote to me privately and thanked me for speaking up, and also stated the pain that blanket judgements such as these can cause. THe bottom line, or one of them, is to make absolutely certain before you marry someone that you know them, know who they *really* are. Also have a healthy attitude about the marriage itself. Be a complete and happy person within yourself and marry to *share* your life, not to derive a life from the union. The safest way to find the 'perfect' spouse is by accident. If you are making a life for yourself and are not *seeking*, your vision will be much clearer. You will see the person as they are, not who you wish them to be. Love, Elizabeth Return Address...... I really enjoyed Zane's posting. I don't think it was an attack on anyone and was very well established with sufficient scripture. The only question that I had as I mentioned earlier was that maybe the possibility that a marriage was never ordained by God. In other words a marriage that has been entered into by unsaved people. In Elizabeth's case her first husband was definetly not a beleiver and I beleive that such a marriage is not a marriage in God's eyes. The bible only applies to beleivers not unbeleivers. Thanks zane for a good study. In His Love, Eric.
