JEK@NIHCU (James Kiefer) (02/10/90)
David Hale asks: "Why is my mail sent back sometimes?" If you send the message SET REPRO CHRISTIA (or possibly just SET REPRO -- I haven't done it for a while; try both) to LISTSERV@FINHUTC you will always get a copy of your mail when CHRISTIA distributes it to the membership at large. Some people like this -- it assures them that their mail is in fact being distributed to the list. If you are getting some letters back independently of REPRO, it is because someone on the list cancelled his account without cancelling his CHRISTIA subscription. As a result, when you mail something to CHRISTIA, an attempt is made to send him a copy, and you get a note saying that he is no longer there, and here is your letter. Eventually this stops, but what kind person or computer program takes care of it, I have no idea. Yours, James Kiefer
