[bit.listserv.christia] KE: Jesus Is God!

D2MG@SDSUMUS (Kurt Evans) (02/12/90)

Hallelujah! What a blessed day I've had! Church was awesome.
My pastor is awesome. My God is awesome. I am *free*--totally free!!
For the past couple of weeks I've had total access to God's Spirit.
I just go crank up some D&K, pray in my unknown tongue, and leap and
dance around my dorm room in the presence of the Lord.

This semester He has broken Satan's grip on me in so many areas!
So much sin has been put behind me, and so much life is flowing through
me! The Word is totally and utterly alive, and I'm learning that I
never had a clue what peace was until I submitted to Jesus.

All of the wrong I've done is being rectified. God is bringing
good out of bad the way He alone can. He has hardly disciplined me at
all this month, but I have a feeling I'll love Him all the more when
I need it again.

I never had anything on my own. Sure, I've had plenty of 4.0's.
What does that mean? Nothing. God gave me the brain, but it never
did anything to fill the void in my life until I gave Him my heart.
Sure, I can sing, but singing was never so beautiful as it is under
the power of the Holy Spirit.

Am I bragging? Only about my weakness. I've had all the things
people think they want, but none of it meant anything until I gave it
all to the Lord. I couldn't put together even a vague semblance of
happiness until I opened the Bible. I was on the road that leads to
death and destruction before I made the radical change and sold out.

What doesn't fill the void? Well, I can say video games don't,
alcohol doesn't, good grades don't, praise from adults doesn't, empty
religion doesn't, winning arguments doesn't, girls don't, a nice car
doesn't, computers don't . . . even basketball doesn't bring inner
harmony until you pray before you play.

What does fill the void? JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD!

Romans 8:
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is
against us?
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all,
how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
33 Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who
justifies;
34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes,
rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also inter-
cedes for us.
. . .
37 ...in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who
loved us.
                                       Life is hard,
                                       God is good,
                                       Jesus is Lord,
                                            Kurt
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever. (Is. 40:8)
