[bit.listserv.christia] Pluralism...

PDBROYLES@OWUCOMCN (The Golden Rule: He who has all the Gold makes the rules.) (02/13/90)

>Your remarks almost put me on the
>defensive and I was gonna write a smart alec response, but that would'nt be
>Jesus.

I'm G*L*A*D you didn't, I can be very cutting and vicious in the written
word as my fellow classmates can occassionally vouch when I choose to
write for our school newspaper, and had I received a smart alec response I
would have probably responded in kind :)

>I hope you understand pluralism has no place in Christianity, you're eit
>her hot or cold for or against. My attitude was and still is Christian toward y
>ou please don't sit in judgment of me, because I don't conform to your belief.

David, have you ever heard me sit in judgement of somebody on this list
(I've been critical of closed-mindedness, and I did attack Kurt harshly),
but I am very against judging others---Hindu's Christians Buddhist, etc.
I guess why I am replying to your message is to let you know that I am not
sitting in judgement of you---I never will.

>Don't force your pluralistic view on me.

If it seems like I've been pushing a pluristic view on you I apologize, I
haven't been trying to, I've just been trying to defend the religious
beliefs of a group that was misrepresented and biasedly attacked... Also,
I *AM* going to loose 95% of you but Hinduism is but isn't pluristic.
Many Hindu's do not know how to even explain it, but if one understands
Hinduism then one would know they are not truly Pluristic, but it would
take a NOVEL to explain this one---especially to this crowd.

>The hindos, moslems, buddas and others don'
>t even believe in Heaven and that paul is fact and is not an ignorant statment.

It is not a fact, but it is not entirely an ignorant statement, I know
that you don't want me to explain or elaborate so I won't but I do want
you to know that it is not a black and white fact...

>How can you even argue these peoples case if they don't even believs in Heaven?

Again, they do believe in Heaven (muslims call it Heaven if I remember,
while the Buddhist call it Pure land and Nirvana, and the Hindu's
Nirvana...)

I could respond to the rest of the message I but I won't I don't think you
are ready or for that matter really care to know the rest of the story
about Hinduism---nor does a majority of this list, so I'm opting not to
continue with it unless somebody else brings it up again....
