To all who are interested: Here is a compilation of the churches currently attended by members of this list who chose to respond to my query. I thought I had gotten a lot more response than this, but I guess not. Anyway, here's the way the five responses break down: St. John's parish of the Episcopal Church. St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Lutheran Church Covenant Church The Baptist tabernacle Some of you asked me for my "affiliation." I don't like the thought of being "affiliated" with one group or another, but the reality is that I feel most comfortable in Churches of Christ. I attend the A&M Church of Christ here in College Station, Texas. I will probably always attend a Church of Christ, because I have been for 20 years and I am more familiar with their problems than any other group's. "We" have the reputation of extreme legalism and works-based salvation theology, but I have found over the last several years that the trend in this denomination is away from those shackles and back toward the original intent of the founders of the Church of Christ...returning Christ, not an individual creed, to the center of attention. Gary, I don't know whether or not I will be speaking in Dallas/Fort Worth again anytime soon. My wife and I will be moving to Montana in June, Lord willing, so unless an opportunity arises soon, I've spoken for the last time in Big D. Thanks for the encouragement, though...it's nice to know that I haven't alienated all of you with my attitudes. Mike, to tell you the truth, I hadn't placed you in *any* camp. You don't post as often as the rest of us (for better or for worse, huh, Lauren? *grin*), so I really hadn't had the "opportunity" to pigeonhole you yet. ;-) Thanks to all who responded. queue ball [sigh of relief]
