A comment on 688 Attack Sub - It is a good game but looks just as good on a MCGA, as well as the VGA - Its really using the 320x200x256 mode.. David oh, and thanx for all the info on the .gif pix

>this is what I wanted to ask - can you recommend some good games to me, that >look great on VGA? I'll post my findings here in a little while.. How about SOLITILE, available on LISTSERV@UTARLVM1 ? Spyros

Here's another entry for the VGA games list: "Mean Streets" from Access Software. Great 256-color modes PLUS speech from your cheap little PC speaker. I saw it run on an IBM PS/2 Model 70, so I can't tell how well it works on a lesser machine. The best part is talking to your secretary on the flying-car's mobile Phone/TV. I'm going to have to buy this one! Marty Z -- <ZIMMERMA@IDCSVAX>

>Mean Streets
I've seen Mean Streets on a 10mhz machine with VGA. It's superb. But
i've also seen it on a 4.77 mhz machine and it's so slow that it chokes.
The same is true for other Access games (A10-Tank Killer comes to
mind).
These are available for IBM only at this point.
SimCity is available for both Macs and IBMs. Point of fact: there are
two distinct versions for Macs. One is about $20 more and will support
color systems.
Other visual games for VGA include Leasure Suit Larry (I, II, and III!),
Zany Golf, Harley-Davidson "The Road to Sturgis", Die Hard, Vette
(though only EGA), JetFighter, Falcon-AT, Blue Angels.
Please note that all of these are commercial software products that are
currently available from your local software store.
