A short while ago I asked about files with the name extension ".Z" .
My thanks to all who responded to my query. I think that it
might be worthwhile to post this selection of replies:

It's in  PD1:<MSDOS.SQ-USQ>COMPRS16.ARC  ... and works just fine.

I am not a VMS user but the following might be of interest to those of
you who are ...
