To start with a classic of the classics: A VGA-only Pacman called EAT IT.
It is just that, a basic Pacman with no extra features, but quite playable.
And then there is an Invaders game, (ta-daa) CLONE INVADERS. It can use almost
any graphics adapter, including the multi-colour mode of VGA (MCGA).
If you like Asteroids, EGAROIDS is a game for you. It is a very basic Asteroids
game with no sounds or anything like that.
You can get Arkanoid for PC, but I don't think it's shareware. But there is
a game called BANANOIDS. It looks fantastic, it uses 256 colours (sorry,
it doesn't run on EGA) and the finest-looking screen scrolling I have ever
seen on PC.

I have no idea whether any of these can be found in FTP-sites, but
I could send them to anyone interested.
