Well following my posting of yesterday, we took my advice and begain testing the 3.0 MS Kermit. I was running on 6.03 on SUN/OS version of SAS and we tried the VT340 terminal definition (this is the DEC terminal that gives 16 color graphics mode and is listed in the SAS/Graph Hardware Interfaces manual) Unfortunately, it don't work. The reason that it doesn't is that SAS generates ReGis graphics and Kermit will handle only Sixel graphics. I have talked to Peter Ruzsa at SAS and confirmed that there is currently no direct way to generate Sixel graphics (there are some ReGis->Sixel conversion programs). Having SAS generate Sixel graphics is on the Software Ballot and Peter is willing to implement it if there is enough interest. Send him your cards and letters :-) -phil -- J.
