I am attempting to compile a list of graphics devices which use standard 8.5" x 11" paper (such as the HP LaserJet). I understand the HP LaserJet can be rather slow. I am interested in devices which would be faster than an HP LaserJet (ie: 1 or 2 minutes 1er graph as opposed to 10 or 20 minutes per graph). We are going to attempt to produce about 800 bar charts at a time, and if each bar chart takes 15 minutes, the whole batch would take 8.3333 days!!! If each chart took 1.5 minutes, the job would take only 20 hours... We are hoping to run SAS on a 25 MHz (or so) 386 machine with the OS/2 version of SAS which will be comming out in April (that is, if "they" actually write the check for it...!) Any information on speedy ways to get 300 dpi graphics out would be much appreciated! Approximate costs of the devices would also be helpful. Suggestions about "replay" software (programs which read data put out in a form easy for SAS to put out, and transform it into HPLJ "language") would also be very welcome! (We have a few LaserJets already) Thanks! Joe Svec Research Analyst Research Services American College Testing Iowa City, IA 52245
