Has anyone used SAS to perform perceptual mapping using factor analysis. It is a marketing research tool used to place objects in a n dimentional space defined by factors generated from responses repeated for each object. Please send me any responses directly I'm unable to monitor the list consistently.

I suggest you try a database search on the list archives. If you already know how to do this, there's no need to read any further. I'm posting this summary to the entire list on the assumption that a lot of people aren't aware of the possibility of performing database searches. The procedure can be summarized as follows: Get hold of the file LISTDB MEMO, from your LISTSERV, for details of the procedure. You can do a keyword search for past articles. if you cna't monitor the list consistently, you can also poll the archives from time to time for responses. In this case, a possible procedure might be sketched as follows (but at's important to be familiar with the documentation first): LDBASE UALTAVM <---- Make contact with database (you'll need to hit ENTER, to specify LISTSERV, the first time SEARCH perceptual mapping factor in SAS-L <----- Search command LIST <----- Show hits PRINT n1 n2 n3 <---- Print selected items QUIT (---- Break connection The SENDBACK connand allows you to get output as a file, rather than typed online. You have to use it if output is expected to be volumninous. Hope this helps. Peter Jones MAINT@UQAM (514)-987-3542 "Life's too short to try and fill up every minute of it" :-)
