We use Printer Assist from Fresh Technology. I believe that is the latest
and greatest interation of HOTSERVER. Anyway, it works just fine for
us. I have never gotten any reports of losing any characters. We do not
use KERMIT though. We go with PROCOMM.

I am very intrigued and will be buying a number of Microtest's LANPORTS
for future network installations. This is basiclly a PC with an Ethernet
port and either a single LPT1:, COM1:, or duall COM1: and COM2: ports
without a keyboard or monitor... It is the size of a deck of cards.
It is also very secure. Prices range from $495 - $695 list. AUI and
   BNC connections are supported.

The current release requires that you also buy LAN Systems LANSpool for
your server. A new release, expected out within a month or so, will
require nothing extra, and will work will all NW286 and 386 print
   queues.
