HELP!!! I am running netware on a 286 clone with 4 meg of memory. I've suddenly had a number of crashes. We are using an ne2000 and an nl1000 in the server running netware 2.15c. The mac vap 1.1 was installed about three weeks ago without print services and worked great allowing macs on ethertalk to log into the novell server without a single problem. However, yesterday, we added the print services by rerunning the macsetup and adding print services following the manual. Print services worked fine for 24 hours but then crashed the server with the message "Abend: General Protection Interrupt- running process MUXPRC." We've checked our 4 meg of memory and it seems fine. We have lanspool running but taking lanspool vap out does not seem eliminate the problem. Since we must have macs, pcs, and print services for all, this problem is one we must resolve. Please help. Thanks. Howard Rollins Emory University psyhar@emuvm1

When I called Novell moons ago with a General Protection Interupt they indicated that it was caused by memory, but they said it could be any board with memory including NIC's. This was on an HP Vectra CS/12 that I was trying to run SFT 2.15 on. The amazing thing was I didn't change any thing except running Advanced Netware 2.15 in non-dedicated mode on the Vectra and all the problems went away. I wish, like everyone else, that when a server died it would be a little more considerate about it's cryptic messages. Brian Hughes
