[bit.listserv.novell] NE1000 vote!

Novell NE1000 ethernet cards are the most reliable I have ever used. I
have no experience of the WD cards, but the NE1000 knock spots off
BICC, NP600a and RML cards (vey much my view |-)

Whenever I have had problems with a network card, I put the NE100 in
its place and watch. Usually everything humms wonderfully. We have
had a spate of ABEND errors on our file server, while using an
asdsortment of RML, BICC, and NE1000 cards. The first two always cause
problems.

My experience of the NP600a: Only one card, it may be a rogue. It
caused a crash per day (on average). We swapped it with an NE1000,
same sort of performance seen by the user, but the server stayed up.

My vote is for NE1000, (though WD cards may be as good or better!)
