We have three labs here at JMU that have been successfully running Advanced NetWare 2.15b with NetWare for Macintosh v1.0. (We're waiting on our upgrades to 2.15c and v1.1). Unfortunately, we had a hard disk go bad on one of the file servers, and after we brought everything back up with a new disk, the two Imagewriters attached to the server now refuse to respond. We've got a 3Com 3C505 adapter and Novell's NL1000 adapter for LocalTalk connection to the Imagewriters. The ten Mac SE's and ten IBM clones in the lab are all connected via ethernet to the server, and they all work fine. The server refuses to acknowledge the Apple printers, though. Every time we reboot we get "Printer ImageWriter One running off-line" "Printer ImageWriter Two running off-line" which in our past experience tells us that the server can't find the printers. We've tried renaming the printers, re-installing the NetWare for Macintosh software, switching other 3Com and Novell adapter cards into the machine, and nothing works. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Dan O'Brien Network Analyst James Madison University

Any suggestions? > We've had problems of this nature in the past. Two things you might try; 1. Delete the queues with MacSetup and recreate them. 2. Make sure that there are no old jobs in the queue. We've found that this can be a problem with the v1.1 VAPs. The server may not come up correctly if old jobs are still in the queue.
