As I promised, here's a quickie on the BeaverGate SMTP gateway for QuickMail:

What is BeaverGate?

It is a QuickMail bridge for sending and receiving e-mail to and from TCP/IP
based networks, such as the Internet. The bridge uses the TCP/IP SMTP protocol
to deal directly, as an equal, with all other nodes on the network. No local
host is required. It is also an SMTP receive and SMTP send programs, used by
the QuickMail bridge.

How Much Does It Cost?

It's free.

What are Its Requirements?

CE Software's QuickMail for Macintosh, version 2.01 or higher
A separate Mac acting as a QuickMail server is recommended
Internet name server on the TCP/IP network
Mac system software 6.0.2 or higher running MultiFinder
Apple MacTCP version 1.0 or higher
An ethernet card supported by MacTCP

How Does One Get a Copy of BeaverGate?

Anonymous FTP to madhaus.utcs.utoronto.ca
In the pub directory

P.S: This message came to you from my Mac via QuickMail via BeaverGate.
