Oh ye of little faith! Per my problem with adding a second server and getting a crashed network with a "copywrite violation" message in the log, I made a mini network of the new server and one workstation, logged on as supervisor, and can indeed now see the serial number and application number in SYSCON's File Server Information screen. However, the serial number is quite different from the serial number of the first server. It is the serial number advertised on the box and on the Gendata diskette. So why does Netware think there is a copywrite violation?

Glenn, of course. Is it possible that the embedded serial number hangs out somewhere besides the GENDATA diskette? Novell said that's the only place it resides, and that I can do new Netgens by erasing the Gendata file from my hard drive, and then inserting each new copy's Gendata diskette when called for during the generation process. during the generation process.
