I just had a user get a copy of 2.15 SFT via his Netware Assurance(sp?) that he bought through a local dealer. I was trying to upgrade his PS/2 model 80 server from 2.11 to 2.15. He has a pretty standard configuration and is using 3c523 for his LAN adapters. When I was running NETGEN I could not Load and Select any LAN_DRV_00x disk that had the 3c523 driver on it. The LAN_DRV_001 that was shipped to the user does not have any drivers for the 3c523. I made a LAN_DRV_002 disk and tried to load the drivers they were using under 2.11. I could not get the installation program to find any drivers on that disk. Any one know what I did wrong off the top of their head? I will go re-read the manual, but I expected what I tried to work. Greg, The old drivers should work OK with 2.15, but I'd recommend that you check on Netwire to make sure you've got the most recent version. Once you have the correct drivers, take a look at the .LAN file (probably 3C523.LAN) using some kind of editor, and the first few bytes in that file will indicate what directory you need to put the object files in in order to load and select from within Netgen. For some reason, some vendors choose to make you create a new directory (like LAN_DRV_005) before you can gen with their drivers. I hope this solves your problem. Dave Molta University of North Texas
