Has anyone received the following error message? If so what caused it and how do I prevent it from happening again? While copying a file (I tried both COPY and NCOPY) from my local drive to a network drive, I got 'NETWORK ERROR ON SERVER ADMIN: ERROR SENDING ON NETWORK. ABORT OR RETRY?' Retry doesn't do anything and abort logs me out. I am running SFT 2.15 (A) on an IBM token ring network (using 4 Mbps). (I can successfully copy from the network drive to a local drive.) Any ideas? Thanks. ....Peggy Tullio UCLA

SUBJECT :NETWORK ERROR WHEN USING NCOPY DATE : 9/9/89 GENERAL INFORMATION : "NETWORK ERROR ON SERVER ??, ABORT RETRY" PROBLEM : error received at all workstations on a network when multiple ncopies of large files are performed. (files we used were 10 and 15meg files). The problem occurs when the number of ncopies is equal to the number of service processes available on the network. The server appears to go down to users because there are no processes available to provide positive acknowledgments until one of the ncopies is completed. Be assured that the file server is still up. SOLUTION : Be patient and the server will eventually finish and you can retry at the w.s. and everything is fine. OR limit the number of simultaneous ncopies. COMMENTS (Optional) :This would occur for any job that was being serviced by a process and took several minutes to complete. Thanks Corey <<Novell>>

Try removing DXMT0MOD.SYS from your CONFIG.SYS file and then reboot your workstation.
