I'd appreciate some feedback as to what the options are to link two NetWare LAN's together asynchronously. I've got dedicated CPU's at each end to support the bridge, but are not sure what software options exist. The environment is ANW286 V2.11 over ARCNet. I wish to use Hayes 9600 baud V.32 modems on each side of the bridge. Other than NetWare's remote bridge driver, are there any Novell or 3rd-party software alternatives? Mike.

Mike, Most packages that exist to connect two remote NetWare systems use X.25 cards and a special driver for the NetWare Bridge. Unfortunately, due to the design and implementation of the 2.1x shells, the maximum throughput that one can get is 40% of the bandwidth. I currently have some remote networks connected through a 56Kb line and the maximum transfer rate that I can get over the remote bridge is 3 KBytes/sec, or 24 KBits/sec. I have passed the problem onto Novell for further information.
