Could someone give any advice on the following problem? ********Network error writing to Server Abort or Retry********** The above message appears occasionally on various workstations - on average 2 to 3 times a day. It occurs even when the User is NOT writing to the server, but often seems to occur when another Workstation is logging in or out of the network. Most of the time the error goes away after entering "R" 2 or 3 times. The network consists of 1 server and 30 workstations (split 15/15) on 2 seperate floors (approx 100 yards apart). The cards used are Dlink cards and the cable is twisted pair. There is a terminator at either end of the Network. We are using Novell 86 version 2.0A. The network has been installed for over 2 years but these errors have only recently been occuring. When we use TESTN (the software supplied by DLINK) to test that workstations will send and receive from each other, we occasionally get errors when going over a distance, the error being packet not received or sent successfully.
