[bitnet.swl-l] Roller Tank?

Q & A Time:

I dearly hope someone here can figure this out, I'm building a Linear Amp for
ham use based on the Ample Amplifier design that appeared in 73 magazine
years ago. I'm taking various parts from several sources for my homebrew
1200 Linear, supporting 10, 20, and 80 meter communications

I've pulled togethed schematics I plan to use, including a heavy duty COR,
wideband pre-amp, and several meter drives and related circutry for on board
SWR, Plate and grid voltages, output on a 1-2000 Scale.

But on the main Amplifier circut schmatic there is a part called simply a
"Roller Tank" The symbol looks like a adjustable coil of some sort...Much like

a pot except a coil symbol instead of a resistor symbol.

BTW- This whole unit is built around 4cx250b tubes that run about $120 each,
which is not incredibly bad, but not cheap either...

Anyone have a good source for motorola's MRF series of transistors? I have
a hard time locating them, even directly from Motorola.
