I'm making a lot of progress on the welcome message, but I need some input from the group on a couple of things: o This thing is starting to get a little long (~350 lines long, without Bob Parnass' contributions on scanning, a section on computers, QSLs, etc.) How long does everyone think it should be? o Given how long a posting just on shortwave could be, does it make sense to split shortwave and scanners into two separate articles? o I'm including a brief section on basic texts on the subject. I've written little blurbs on Gerry Dexter's *Shortwave Listening with the Experts* and Arthur Cushen's *Radio Listening Guide*; I've heard good things about Harry Helms' *Shortwave Listener's Guide*, but I haven't read it. Would anyone like to contribute a paragraph on the book? I hope to have a preliminary version to post for comments in a week or so. -- Ralph Brandi ralph@lzfme.att.com att!lzfme!ralph Work flows toward the competent until they are submerged.
