[bitnet.swl-l] Shuttle freqs in UK / W. Europe

travett@PRCS3.DECNET.PHILIPS.BE (01/16/90)

Hi all,

I have only just started subscribing to this list, but have already found it of
interest, and therefore may I try and feed something back in to it.

For anyone else over here in the UK ( or probably W. Europe for that matter ) I
managed to here the shuttle commmentary last night at about 20:00z. It was on
21.395, and was not too bad a signal considering that all I have at the moment
is an FRG-7 and a wire hung around my front room / shack, simply because I have
only just moved house and haven't had a chance to get the wire in the back
garden yet!

The shuttle was about to go into its sleep period, and was due to re-appear at
9:30pm EST?? or 02:30z.

Wonder if any one else in UK / W. Europe has heard it on other freqs / times,
since I am not too familiar with propogation paths etc, being more a VHF/UHF
operator.

                Richard Travett, G8XYS.
