Could we have a correct statement from those in the know of the exact frequencies the shuttle is broadcasting on and some idea of the times to listen, especially for those of us on the California coast. I cant hear a thing on 3860 or 7185 (LSB). -- /s/ rchrd <=> Richard Friedman <=> rchrd@well rchrd@well.sf.ca.us | {apple, pacbell, hplabs, ucbvax}!well!rchrd [Pacific-Sierra Research / Berkeley CA] (415) 540-5216 (The usual disclaimers apply - I speak only for myself!)

There's been a lot of discussion about Radio Shack's DX-440, and I just recently happened to buy one ( before my access to usenet ). I've had great success at pulling in ham conversations from Florida to Canada with my wimpy indoor ( townhouse ) dipole antenna ... but have not been able to connect with any of the lately posted freq's concerning re-broadcasts of the shuttle activity.

I was able to pick up a marginal signal on 14295 USB on my ATS-803a, but I'm not totally sure it was the shuttle. It sounded like it was from the few keywords I was able to make out. aem -- a.e.mossberg / aem@mthvax.cs.miami.edu / aem@umiami.BITNET / Pahayokee Bioregion If you listen to Dukakis long enough, you'd think people are homeless, and people are going without food and medical attention, and that we've got to do something about the unemployed. - Ronald Reagan, during the 1988 Bush campaign
