[bitnet.swl-l] Those NASA Shuttle frequencies

rchrd@THINK.COM> (01/13/90)

Could we have a correct statement from those in the know
of the exact frequencies the shuttle is broadcasting on
and some idea of the times to listen, especially for
those of us on the California coast. I cant hear a thing
on 3860 or 7185 (LSB).

There's been a lot of discussion about Radio Shack's DX-440, and I just
recently happened to buy one ( before my access to usenet ). I've had
great success at pulling in ham conversations from Florida to Canada with
my wimpy indoor ( townhouse ) dipole antenna ... but have not been able to
connect with any of the lately posted freq's concerning re-broadcasts of
the shuttle activity.

I was able to pick up a marginal signal on 14295 USB on my ATS-803a,
but I'm not totally sure it was the shuttle. It sounded like it was
from the few keywords I was able to make out.

I get this in Washington, DC on 145.47 MHz, narrowband FM
(use a scanner (this is the two-meter ham band)).
