Because of budget cuts, the Voice of America announced today (February 1) the termination of six language broadcast services effective April 1, 1990. The languages affected are: Lao, Swahili, Greek, Turkish, Uzbek and Slovene. The announcement was made by VOA Director, Richard Carlson at a meeting open to all VOA personnel this afternoon. -- E.
