I am always curious about how people can crack the password of some games. Can someone please tell me how I can do so? Like using Norton Utilities, or any editor. Please tell me what to look for? Thanks 8) -- :) :( :^) B^) 8( 8| ;) _ _ | user's name: Edward Wong |_ |\ \ / /\ |_) |\ | ARPA: edwong@bucsf.bu.edu |_ |/ \^/ /==\ | \ |/ | UUCP: bucsf.bu.edu!edwong

Old rogue games used the crypt(3) command (DES encryption) and compiled the crypted pw into the executable. If you got a copy of it, you could edit the binary and insert your own encrypted pw into it. Strings would find the apprpriate string. I was playing around with mounting partitions w/o root access. This is on Ultrix 4.0 and can be done by anyone. Talk about distributed computing! I see some interesting things here. -- _---_ Stefan Chakerian / o o \ | \___/ | \_____/ Have a nice day... somewhere else.
