Index Number: 6022 to: amercer@thor.wright.edu (Art Mercer) Art, Just wanted to let you and others know that I have indeed spent a lot of time integrating Amiga speech into a usable form by the blind. I am a totally blind computer programmer who has developed a program called Ami-Talk which allows a blind person to use any off-the-shelf (well, virtually any) software on the Amiga. Not only does it provide speech output for such programs, but allows you to have control over speech characteristics such as rate, pitch, how words are pronounced, how punctuation is pronounced, etc. It also provides a way for the blind user to manipulate menus, gadgets, windows, screens, etc. without use of the mouse. If you are interested, please send me your address and I'll send you a free working demo copy of Ami-Talk. Call or write me at: Chip Orange 3227 Rain Valley Ct.
