GW> Well, Bob and Ron DO know an awful lot of stuff, I'll agree.
GW> Now, if they can just tell me how I can *profitably* publish my
 GW> disABILITY NEWS-letter...! ;D

Without knowing more about the problem (I presume it is profitability.
You can increase the customer base by good marketing. Send press
releases to every rehab hospital, support group, advocacy group,
newsletter, etc, in your region. A copy of one of my recent press
releases is attached to give you ideas. It pays to hire a marketing
person to write it.

Depend on your current readers to increase your circulation. Hold a
contest for the most new subscribers. It is my observation that many
disabled people are not connected to the support groups and services
due to denial or ignorance, etc. They do not know that such things
exist, believe it or not. Offer a 1-year free subscription to newly
disabled people. Make sure rehab agencies know about that. Introduce
a special 1-year gift subscription.

Take advertising if you don't already. If you do, increase the amount
you have. Pursue it. Speak to all the local and national rehab
product stores. Speak to some of the national distributors of
wheelchairs and carts (a very competetive market). Speak to housing
developers with adapted housing, etc. Make sure your rates are high
enough. If you can deliver a very targeted market, your ads will be
worth more.

Cut mailing costs. If you're sending it first-class now, sort it by
zip code (that will get you a 4 cent discount per), or get a bulk-rate
mailing permit.

I can make other suggestions with more info.

RSR REAL ESTATE OFFERS 24-HOUR TDD ANSWERING SERVICE

Homebuyers may now take advantage of RSR Real Estate's new TDD phone line 24
hours a day.

In announcing this service to deaf and hard-of-hearing customers, owner and
broker Ron Rothenberg noted that many prospective home and condominium owners
have avoided the real estate market because of the difficulty in communicating
with real estate agents.

"We offer personalized attention to our customers' needs," said Rothenberg.
"We explain every step of the process from the initial offer to the closing,
clearly and in as much detail as needed. And, we hope that adding a new TDD
line will prove our commitment to serving the deaf community."

RSR Real Estate may be reached at (617) 489*3848 (TDD) and
(617) 489*4812 (Voice).

RSR REAL ESTATE OFFERS EXPERIENCE WITH ACCESSIBLE HOUSING

"Mobility-impaired househunters needn't hassle with inappropriate housing
choices," says Ron Rothenberg, Realtor. Rather they should consult real estate
professionals who have experience with accessible housing - and in offering
advice on converting houses or condos to meet individual needs.

RSR Real Estate is such an organization. "In addition to our expertise in
the real estate market," Rothenberg explains, "We carefully research every
available property and are able to provide written descriptions, high-quality
photographs, and in some cases, videos. This limits unproductive tours of
homes, which can cause disappointment and frustration."

Rothenberg works extensively with mobility-impaired and deaf communities.
"These are individuals who have avoided the real estate market in the past,
because of the difficulty in working with real estate agents. I hope to make
these challenges a thing of the past." As part of this commitment, RSR Real
Estate recently introduced a dedicated TDD phone line.

Ron Rothenberg writes a real estate column for the Deaf Community News. He
also writes about fair housing, accessibility and assistive devices.

RSR Real Estate can be reached at (617) 489-4812 and (617) 489-3848 (TDD).
