I couldn't agree with you more, Debbie.

If you are different from the mass in some way, people seem to think you are 
not allowed to be cross or lonely or weepy ("mustn't feel sorry for 
ourselves") and as for s-e-x - well!

I'm physically mostly OK (lacking a couple of trivia here and with an extra 
toe on my left foot there) but I know people with more apparent 
differences that have been told that of course any thought of a sexual 
relationship would be quite disgusting!

This from people whose moral and emotional attitudes are far more "crippled" 
than the bodies and minds of those they are trying to criticise/control.

afford to call all that way from Cheshire, but I can call this system in 
Manchester, which is only about forty miles away, and is run by this lovely 
man who not only brought this conference into my life but also introduced me 
to someone who is going to be share the rest of my life with me.
