[misc.handicap] Computer Software for the Developmentally Disabled

Tony Hatfield of the University of Alaska in issue 1016 asks about
software for the developmentally disabled useful for independent living
skill training. This is not my area but you may want to talk to the
people at Intuit Computing, 1915 Huguenot Road, Richmond, VA 23235 (tel:
804-794-4841). They make an interactive program for cognitive
rehabilitation called Captain's Log which sounds like it might be
related to what your looking for.

You also mention voice input/output (voice I/O) and graphics software
for this application. You might want to talk to Chatterbox Voice
Learning Systems in Los Angeles. They make some excellent language
training software for use in schools that uses voice I/O and graphics.

Good luck in your efforts,
