Index Number: 6174 Hi! Your tan looks goooooooood!(GRIN) I would like to tell you that I am doing well but I cannot. I have been getting worse. The docs tried a burst of prednisone (1,000 mgs.) I.V. a bout three weeks ago and then reduced the daily prednisone by another 5 mgs. the next day. I had 2 1/2 days of semi-relief and then progressively got worse then I had been before their experiment. I am down to 10mgs./day on the daily prednisone and have had to increase the pain meds. I have not been able to leave my apartment except to go to the doc (and someone has to take me), and I have had to rely on others for meal preparations. I am not used to being dependent on others like this and it is very depressing for me to have to deal with that as well as the pain. I had to make a very painful decision to not attend classes this semester which means that I will not be graduating this May as planned. And to add insult to injury it snowed here a few days ago but did not snow in my area of town - if I'm gonna suffer from the weather then I want to at least be able to see and play with the snow. And stick my tongue out and catch snowflakes. I don't mean to sound so depressing but that's where I am right now and I am having a very hard time shaking it. The doc told me this past Thursday that there is nothing more they can do for me except give me the narcotics. That kind of news kind of tends to drag one down. Also, had my ears tested and was told that I just had to live with the ringing. He didn't know what was causing the ringing (it could be from the diabetes but he's not sure), and he told me that most people have the hardest time at nite trying to go to sleep so I should use a tape or radio to go to sleep with. I told him I'm already doing that. I'm glad you are home safe and had a good visit - I missed you. AIN'T GOIN' FOR MUCH RIGHT NOW. nadine -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!300!10.0!Nadine.Thomas Internet: Nadine.Thomas@p0.f10.n300.z1.fidonet.org
