[misc.handicap] Need info on accessibility

I am looking for information on accessibility to circulate to colleges.
I admit I am able-bodied and pretty ignorant about accessibility issues.
If I had to go out and find an ASL interpreter for a concert, for instance,
I wouldn't have the slightest information where to find one - yellow pages?
ad in the paper? some statewide agency?

So, my questions are:
    - where does one go to find an ASL interpreter? How much, on the
average, does an interpreter charge?
    - where can I get braille services? Where can I find books on tape?
A catalog of books on tape? A catalog of braille books? Prices?
    - where can I go if I want to arrange for a workshop on being with
a blind person and how to be helpful and what the issues are? Same for
deaf, wheelchair-bound, other disabilities. Prices?

Any of these sources should not just be local - ie, only good for the
Boston area, where I am posting from - since I do want to compile this
info and circulate it to colleges in an effort to improve accessibility.
Feel free to add to my questions if I omitted anything.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
