Now that I have this neat little echo on my BBS, I may as well throw
in a message of my own! Thought I would share a story with you all.
About seven years ago I was cooking in a very small kitchen, window
was closed, only one door. My 14 year old son, at the time, thought
it would be a wonderful idea to take one of those Capri-Sun containers
and smash it together to make it "pop." Well it popped, and the sound
reverberated off all the walls of the kitchen and into my right ear.
I heard ringing for about an hour, then distortion. I had to go to an
ENT who put me on Prednisone, to reduce the swelling. Bottom line of
treatment: I did lose hearing in that ear, and to this day it is
distortion I hear instead of the "real thing." Moral: don't "pop"
things in small areas......dangerous to your hearing!
