Part of the reason the "special equipment" cost more is because of the
paper and book holder that permits rapid shifting of the material under the
camera. Also, the black and white monitor that is supplied with the system
has a switch to invert the video display (so that you get white letters on
black background). This is of some importance to people who cannot look at
a white or bright screen for long periods of time. I'm not sure you can do
this with a color monitor.
