Monica Himes of Glassboro, N.J. says she's looking for an attorney to
help her file suit against her local police department for what she
calls "malicious prosecution." Himes' problems with officers go back
to December 1987 when she says she tried to file a complaint against a
driver who had denied her pedestrian right-of-way and was instead
slapped with a ticket herself -- for not having headlights on her
scooter-type wheelchair. A month later she was charged with disorderly
conduct for allegedly berating a patrolman about the ticket in a
convenience store.

She fought both charges and eventually won -- biut I don't feel
vindicated."

"I wasn't out for a confrontation," she says, "I was out trying to get
a prescription for my son."

"The police should be able to tell a person from a car."
