Here at North Shore Community College in MA, we are looking for
solutions to a problem with students who cannot use pencil and
paper, but can access the computer. They would like to be able
to solve math problems on their own. At the present time, we are
using scibes, but this does not give them any practice time at
home, or on their own. We have a calculator program, but the
students would like to work the problems out for themselves, and
need a scratch-pad like software package. We have students in
all levels of math through calculus who need this kind of program.
We would like to find one that is truly user-friendly and can run
on an IBM PC without hard drive and only 256K memory.

If anyone knows of such a package, please contact me. My BITNET
address is SSTALKER@RCN.BITNET. Thanks,
                                     Sandy Stalker, NSCC
