Index Number: 7031 RR> I've already include the reacher. I like it a lot RR> myself. Good for pinching girls at a distance. ... RR> There is a group called Canine Companions for RR> Independence, or somesuch which sounds like exactly RR> what he needs. They supply trained dogs to do some RR> of the things he can't, plus fun and companionship are RR> thrown in for free. I prefer having enough interpersonal skills, relating one human to another human - irrespective of sex, race, disability, homosexuality, religion, color, ... All the usual United Nations stuff... One of my biggest complaints about the do-gooders, is THEIR MATERIALISM. Because they lack people skills, they IMPOSE gadgets/ pets onto us. They crowd out the provision and supply of MERE PEOPLE! Ok, I'm a male. Disabled, but a male. That means that finding a socially ok companion is very easy for me. There are manu socially adept women around, also looking for companionship. Especially if it is a man without the usual obsessions about sexuality & prettiness. Unfortunately for disabled women, the available men are not so plentiful. Men in general (disabled or not), are lacking in people skills. Men, in general, relate best to people via GADGETS. Traditionally these gadgets have been knives, guns & armoured vehicles. Ron, I'm not saying anything about You. I don't even know you. But I am trying to make a point: PEOPLE SKILLS ARE NEEDED. All else follows. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!3!714!404.0!Greg.See-Kee Internet: Greg.See-Kee@p0.f404.n714.z3.fidonet.org
